Case Study: Decor Material Industry | HERO Intelligent streamlines the entire "inbound – storage – workshop delivery" workflow for a decor material manufacturer, driving the intelligent upgrade of its warehousing and logistics!
Project Pain Points:
1. Traditional flat warehouses occupy a large footprint and underutilize vertical space; limited storage capacity struggles to meet the ever-growing demand for material storage.
2. Frequent inbound/outbound movements and workshop deliveries of printing cylinders and base paper; manual handling is inefficient and fails to meet the production workshop's requirements for high-efficiency, stable logistics.
3. Material data relies on manual recording, leading to delayed inventory status updates; a lack of end-to-end logistics tracking from storage to the production line makes batch management and traceability difficult.
The project involves constructing one double-deep aisle automated high-bay warehouse for printing cylinders and three double-deep aisle automated high-bay warehouses for base paper. With a load capacity of 1,000 kg and a height of 28 meters, the facilities are designed to store 3,400 printing cylinders and 8,800 rolls of base paper.
The system is equipped with 25 chain conveyors, 52 AGV docking stations, 6 palletizing/depalletizing units, and 16 undercover AGVs, enabling automated operations for material inbound processing, storage, delivery, and inter-process transfer.
Project Highlights:
1. High-bay vertical storage to free up warehouse space: Utilizing a double-deep, high-level vertical storage method maximizes vertical space utilization. The automated warehouses span three floors of the production facility, simultaneously boosting storage capacity and shortening the logistics route between the warehouse and the production floor.
2. Collaborative equipment operation for automated logistics flow: Stackers, conveyors, and undercover AGVs operate in coordination to automatically store, retrieve, and distribute printing cylinders and raw paper based on production needs; this minimizes manual handling and enhances the efficiency and stability of production logistics.
3. Digital management for end-to-end logistics traceability: Information systems and barcode management enable real-time inventory monitoring and full-process tracking of materials—from inbound receipt, storage, and distribution to their release into production. Combined with batch and usage status management, this ensures that production logistics are transparent, precise, and fully traceable.
